The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network selected Leon R. Kass, M.D. to receive its Paul Ramsey Award for 2010 — an award honoring those “who have demonstrated exemplary achievement in the field of bioethics.” Dr. Kass, the Addie Clark Harding Professor in the Committee on Social Thought and the College of the University of Chicago and Hertog Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, accepted the award with these remarks, which were presented, slightly abbreviated, at the Center’s annual dinner, in San Francisco on March 19, 2010.
