Nathan Glazer, New York Times, September 27, 1992.
Excerpt:
Mr. Buckley’s article was not a consideration of anti-Semitism in general, or in the United States. It was, rather, a consideration of charges of anti-Semitism against some writers and commentators on the right (and at least one on the left). In addition to Mr. Buchanan, for example, Mr. Buckley examines the case of Joe Sobran, a senior editor and writer for National Review and a syndicated columnist. He also considers the charge that The Dartmouth Review, the conservative student publication, is anti-Semitic, and he throws in, for good measure (or to balance the right wingers), a critique of Gore Vidal’s attack on American Jewish supporters of Israel as unpatriotic, which had appeared in the left-wing Nation.
